In 2006, Blake Mycoskie launched TOMS Shoes in Venice, California. The unique One for One model that embraces social responsibility as one of its main tenants. For every pair of shoes sold, another is given to a child in need. In fact, over 140,000 pairs of shoes have been given to children around the world thus far.
